Results, insights and exporting to CSV

By Sibr teamUpdated

On Sibr, every answer appears in your results the moment it arrives, with a chart for each question, and you can download every response as a CSV file for a spreadsheet. The Insights page puts all your surveys and polls side by side so you can see what is working.

Sibr is a polling, survey and paid-study app on the Internet Computer, open to Pi Network users and everyone else. This guide covers reading results, using Insights and working with exports.

What do survey results show?

The results page starts with a summary: how many responses, how many questions and how much time is left. Below it, each question gets the view that suits its kind:

Question kindWhat you see
Single choiceBars with the count and share for each option
Multiple choiceBars for each option; shares can add up to more than 100% because people pick several
Rating 1 to 5The average score and the spread across 1 to 5
TextEvery written answer, visible only to you

Responses are listed by response number, never by username. See How Sibr protects respondent privacy.

How do I find where people stop?

Open the Performance section of a survey's results. It has two views:

  • Responses over time: when people answered, in your time zone. Peaks usually follow the moments you shared the link.
  • Completion by question: the share of all responses that answered each question.

If one question has a much lower completion than the ones around it, look at it closely. It may be unclear, too personal or a long text box. Our guide on how to write a survey people finish has fixes.

How do I read results without fooling myself?

A few habits help:

  • Check the number of responses first. Ten answers can point a direction, but small groups swing easily.
  • Remember who answered. Results describe the people who saw your link and chose to answer, not everyone. A poll shared in one community reflects that community. Not sure whether you need a poll or a survey? See Polls vs surveys.
  • Read the written answers. They often explain a surprising number.
  • Look at wording before conclusions. If a question was leading, its result is too. See How to get honest answers.

What is the Insights page?

Insights is your dashboard across everything you have created. At the top you see totals:

  • Responses across your surveys,
  • This week, responses in the last 7 days,
  • Votes across your polls,
  • Live now, surveys and polls that are open,
  • Rewards paid, for your paid surveys.

Below, switch between Surveys and Polls and sort the list. Each survey shows recent activity over the last 14 days. Polls show total votes; votes over time are not available for polls yet.

What is in the CSV export?

The survey export is a standard CSV file that opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or any data tool. It has:

  • response_no: the response number,
  • created_at: when the response was submitted,
  • one column per question, headed with the question text.

Paid studies get a richer export. Each row also includes:

  • the status (for example paid, held, approved or rejected) and any reject reason,
  • the respondent's verification tier,
  • start time, submit time and duration in seconds,
  • attention check results and a speeder flag,
  • the consent record: version, accepted uses and when they were accepted,
  • any profile details the respondent agreed to share, in ranges such as an age band.

Neither export contains a username, user ID or account identifier. Once you download a file, you are responsible for how you use it, so store it carefully and use answers only for what respondents agreed to.

What can I do with a CSV?

Common next steps:

  1. Filter and sort in a spreadsheet to read answers by group.
  2. Make pivot tables to compare, for example, ratings by the option people chose in another question.
  3. Code written answers into themes and count them.
  4. Load it into analysis tools such as R, Python or a BI dashboard.

How to do it on Sibr

  1. Open Surveys and choose a survey you created, then open its results.
  2. Read the summary, then scroll through each question's chart.
  3. Open Performance for responses over time and completion by question.
  4. Use the export action on the results page to download all responses as a CSV file.
  5. To end a survey early, close it from the results page. If it had a reward budget, the unused part comes back to your balance.
  6. Open Insights to compare all your surveys and polls.

For paid studies, the results page is also where you review held answers. See Paid surveys with Pi: how Sibr Earn works.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export survey results from Sibr?
Yes. Survey creators can download every response as a CSV file from the results page. Each row is one response, with its response number, submission time and one column per question.
Does the CSV include respondents' names?
No. Rows are identified by response number. There is no username, user ID or account identifier in the file.
Can I see results while a survey is still open?
Yes. Every answer is counted the moment it arrives, so you can read results and act before the survey ends.
What does Completion by question show?
The share of all responses that answered each question. A drop on one question is a sign it is unclear, too personal or too much work.
